Cupids tend to exist for one of two reasons- To cause havoc or as a strategic plan. Often people use it for the former as opposed to the latter, but if used correctly this role can be incredibly useful when in games with huge bias towards IC shipping (For example, Carapace groups or Strider sets)

Role description[]

Cupids are given a bow and two arrow (Sometimes more than one arrow) Of one of four colours. They shoot two people into a quadrant, which has one of four effects.

  1. Red arrows: The two people shot will fall in love, and should one of the two in the couple die the other will find themselves committing suicide in a lovers pact.
  2. Black arrows: The two people shot will fall into a kismesitude, hating each other deeply and neither can win while the other survives.
  3. Pale Arrows: They'll be shot into a moirallegiance, and neither can act out any guilty roles (For example, killing someone or blackmailing someone.) Should one die the other will be able to act out guilty roles again.
  4. Grey arrows: The cupid acts an auspistice between the two people shot, should the cupid die the couple will fall into a kismitude.

Strategy for Cupids[]

There are several strategies for the cupid roles, a full and detailed explanation written by Emily can be found here.

The other option for the cupid role is to create 'Joke ships' or to ship friends against each other. This is the 'havoc' version of the role, and is the most often used in games.
